Third Day
I ran into Victor! And apparently I've been spelling his name wrong. Oops...
I wandered around the area for a little bit after yesterdays events. Came across some interesting stuff like this graffiti dedicated to a Courier Six. I don't remember much from before but could that be me? I decided to take note of the location for later.
I did end up telling Ranger Ghost and a guy named Kilborn about the Legion in Nipton. None of them seemed to be happy about this, although I feel like Kilborn had a bit too much of that Doomer mentality. Couldn't really vibe with that.
Eventually I did have to get back to searching for the bastard who shot me, so I went through Nipton on high alert, until I exited the town.
I actually didn't know I would be entering Nevada! Mainly because I don't remember anything at all, but I probably always wanted to travel, right?
On the way, I came across Station Charlie, another NCR outpost. The guy was friendly enough, but unfortunately I couldn't convince him to give me some of those extra medical supplies he had. Probably for the best. Don't want to get on the NCR's bad side anyways.
I also killed some random bandits who tried to mug me. Looks like they didn't know I was packing some big stuff in my pants, if you know what I mean ;)
I crossed paths with some friendly traveling merchants as well, and had to help them with an attack from the Legion. Luckily they were just new initiates and not someone like Vulpes. unfortunately one of the mercenaries didn't make it through the shootout, so we had a quick moment of silence. Or I did. The others might've just been taking a snack break...
I finally made it to Novac near the end of the day, and was greeted by Doc Straus. She was kind enough to offer to heal me up, although I wasn't sure if the extra tetinus shot was necessary or not. The mercenaries with her also seemed concerned about her credentials so I guess I should keep an eye out for any skin falling off my bones. Praying that I'll be fine though.
This is also where I learned why the town was called Novac...
This was where I also ran into Victor again! It's been kinda lonely treking the Mojave by myself so I could've hugged him there.
Actually, I did but it was a bit awkward. The guy is a huge boxy hunk of metal so I couldn't get my arms all the way around. I think he understood the sentiment though.
He talked about some sort of calling he was getting to head towards Vegas. While a little strange, it's not the weirdest thing I've heard. I was hoping he'd join me on my trip but perhaps I can ask later if our paths cross again.
Victor was kind enough to let me hunker down in the building he was staying in, so I'm writing this all while he wheels around outside. He's a funny little robot.
Signing off for the night,
Jackie
